There are also the A-397 and A-355. The first round goes
through the Serrania de Ronda. The second crosses Ojen, entering the Sierra de
las Nieves and the Guadalhorce
Valley. It reviews the
landscape value of the two routes. Two other roads Marbella communicates with are the
neighboring villages of Istan and Benahavis.
Transport ,Communications and Road Network
The town of Marbella is
crossed to the east-west by the Mediterranean Motorway (A-7) and the Autopista
del Sol (AP-7), which connect the city with Estepona and Algeciras
on one side and Malaga’s
airport on the other. These roads also constitute the main axis of
communication between different nuclei and the municipal housing.
Public Transportation
Marbella is the only
municipality in Spain
with more than 100,000 residents that does not have a railway station on its
territory. However, the construction project is in the corridor of the Costa
del Sol, which plans to merge with Malaga and
will feature several stops in Marbella.
One of the trains may be a high-speed train. The
nearest station is close to Fuengirola, 27 km from Malaga. There is a bus service along the
coast.
