municipality is located in the commonwealth of the Southern-Rock. It is situated
at an altitude of 460 m and 110 km from the provincial capital

Symbols
The coat of Pedrera is defined with the following blazon: “In a gold field, a stack of fourteen cannonballs spherical, sable, overtaken by a cupulino of four columns supporting a dome that is half orange, azure, silver, and sable, with two curved daggers lying like Arabs. Festivals
Easter. La Pedrera on Easter Sunday begins with Borriquita.
Holy Thursday makes the season of penance and brotherhood at Brotherhood of St. John the Evangelist and Holy Maria of Peace and Hope. There is a procession with a single step (in the mystery project) to soften, with St. John the Evangelist and Holy Maria and Esperanza Peace; a step with neo-baroque style with chandeliers Sevillan tail made in the workshop of Manolo de Los Rios.
On Good Friday morning there is penance held at Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno Nazareno with Cross.
Pedrera in
Ash Wednesday. It is the most important moment of Carnival Pedrera. There is a party where everyone dresses and meets in the church square.

On Good Friday afternoon penance is made at Brotherhood of the Blood of Christ; there is a pasted polychrome carving of the sixteenth century.
Holy Saturday, in the afternoon, penance is made at the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Entombment of Christ. There is a procession with two steps; first, a recumbent Christ of Saints Sebastian, and the second step of a canopy with the image of Virgen de los Dolores
The Feast of Candlemas, held on February 1. There are more than 500 bonfires lit in the town all at the same time, about 6:30 p.m. The days before the actual celebration, it is interesting to see how the young and old collect olive branches (the pruning is the basis for the fires), which are stacked at the doors of the residents’ homes.

Fiesta de San Antonio de Padua, on June 13. It is the evening in honor of the patron saint of this town.
Carnival Pedrera, 40 days before Resurrection Sunday. This is the most involved party of the year. The whole town is masked in the Burial of the Sardine (Ash Wednesday).
Cry. The Saturday before Ash Wednesday, in the plaza of the Church.
Pilgrimage. The Sunday before Ash Wednesday. It is in honor of Don Carnal. Usually, it is held at Sierra de la Cruz or surrounding areas.
