Benalmadena Attractions

Puerto Deportivo deBenalmadena is one of the main tourist sights of the Costadel Sol. Puerto Deportivo de Benalmadena wasoriginally known as the “Puerto Marina, opened in 1982 and has nearly 1100moorings. The port also houseshotels, restaurants, nightclubs, luxury homes, theClub Nautico Benalmadena Sea,the Center Puerto Marina Shopping and Commercial Aquarium Sea Life Benalmadena.Its original architecture has given international recognition as a “BestMarina in the World” twice.

Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium: Located in the Puerto Deportivo deBenalmadena, is a conservation and protection of sharks opened in 1995. The SeaLife brand belongs to the group Merlin Entertainment, which manages more thantwenty similar aquariums inEurope.

Amusement ParkTivoli World andEntertainment was inaugurated in 1973. And is focused on not only rides, butalso entertainment (concerts, comedy, and dance), restaurants, exhibitions andthematic plazas.

DolfinariumPinguinario Selwo and Marina: Marina Selwo is a marine park that is home tounique and dolphinarium pinguinario ice Andalucía. Located at the fairgroundsin Arroyo de la Miel, near the Parque de la Paloma. Belongs to the chainReunidos Parks, who also manages the Benalmadena Cable and safari park Selwocostasoleno Adventure in the town of Estepona.

The Cable car goes to Benalmadena CalamorroSummit. This is a cable that connects the centre of the town ofArroyo de la Miel with thepeak ofMountCalamorro to 771 meters above sea level after a journey of 5565 meters.

From the top you can see the coast, theMediterranean and, on a clear day, the Rock of Gibraltarand the Atlas of African summits. At thesummit ofMount Calamorroexcursions can be made, there is a cafe and shops and is a spectacular bird ofprey.  Torrequebrada Casino was opened in 1979 and located next to a five starhotel of the same name. It also offers meeting rooms for parties and events.Situated opposite the beach and near the golf course of Torrequebrada.

Archaeological Museum andPre-Columbian Art: The museum displays a collection of pre-Columbian art of thearchaeologist Felipe Orlando with parts fromMexico, Peru,Nicaragua,ColombiaandEcuador.Subsequently, contributions from other collectors have advocated the existenceof one of the best collections of pre-Columbian art outside ofLatin America. It contains an archaeological collectionwith pieces found in the town since theUpper Palaeolithicto the Punic and Roman eras. The museum is located in Benalmadena Pueblo.

Castillo de Bil Bilis an Arabic-style building that was built in the thirties and is the work ofEnrique Atencia. It is located on Avenida Antonio Machado, in the promenadealong theMediterranean and is currently acultural centre and multipurpose building.

Casa de la CulturaPablo Ruiz Picasso is the House of Culture and hosts the tenure of Mayor ofArroyo de la Miel and is the setting for numerous events such as exhibitions,theatre events, carnival and film. Its major attraction is its architecturalstyle Andalusian courtyard.

The MunicipalAuditorium is an auditorium with a capacity to found 1177 people home totheatre, music and dance, mainly in summer as the Summer Festival ofBenalmadena or musical concerts during the patron saint festival in late June.It is located between the exhibition of Arroyo de la Miel, Parque de la PalomaAndalusia, Andalusia Dolfinarium Selwo andMarina, close to Benalmadena Costa.

Municipal PublicLibrary is newly created and combines modern architectural elements with alarge indoor lighting through a large window from which you can see a smalllake in the Parque de la Paloma. Among its collection of all the materialsincluded a section of books in foreign languages, a library, a computer serviceand a free loan service of videos, music and DVDs.
