Puerto Deportivo de
Benalmadena is one of the main tourist sights of the Costadel Sol. Puerto Deportivo de Benalmadena was
originally known as the "Puerto Marina, opened in 1982 and has nearly 1100
moorings.
The port also houses
hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, luxury homes, theClub Nautico
Benalmadena Sea,
the Center Puerto Marina Shopping and Commercial Aquarium Sea Life Benalmadena.
Its original architecture has given international recognition as a "Best
Marina in the World" twice.
Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium: Located in the Puerto Deportivo de
Benalmadena, is a conservation and protection of sharks opened in 1995. The Sea
Life brand belongs to the group Merlin Entertainment, which manages more than
twenty similar aquariums inEurope.
Amusement ParkTivoli World and
Entertainment was inaugurated in 1973. And is focused on not only rides, but
also entertainment (concerts, comedy, and dance), restaurants, exhibitions and
thematic plazas.
Dolfinarium
Pinguinario Selwo and Marina: Marina Selwo is a marine park that is home to
unique and dolphinarium pinguinario ice Andalucía. Located at the fairgrounds
in Arroyo de la Miel, near the Parque de la Paloma. Belongs to the chain
Reunidos Parks, who also manages the Benalmadena Cable and safari park Selwo
costasoleno Adventure in the town ofEstepona.
The Cable car goes to Benalmadena Calamorro
Summit. This is a cable that connects the centre of the town ofArroyo de la Miel with thepeak ofMount
Calamorro to 771 meters above sea level after a journey of 5565 meters.
From the top you can see the coast, theMediterranean and, on a clear day, the Rock of Gibraltar
and the Atlas of African summits. At the summit ofMount Calamorro
excursions can be made, there is a cafe and shops and is a spectacular bird of
prey.
Torrequebrada Casino was opened in 1979 and located next to a five star
hotel of the same name. It also offers meeting rooms for parties and events.
Situated opposite the beach and near the golf course of Torrequebrada.
Archaeological Museum and
Pre-Columbian Art: The museum displays a collection of pre-Columbian art of the
archaeologist Felipe Orlando with parts fromMexico,
Peru,Nicaragua,Colombia
andEcuador.
Subsequently, contributions from other collectors have advocated the existence
of one of the best collections of pre-Columbian art outside ofLatin America. It contains an archaeological collection
with pieces found in the town since theUpper Palaeolithic
to the Punic and Roman eras. The museum is located in Benalmadena Pueblo.
Castillo de Bil Bil
is an Arabic-style building that was built in the thirties and is the work of
Enrique Atencia. It is located on Avenida Antonio Machado, in the promenade
along theMediterranean and is currently a
cultural centre and multipurpose building.
Casa de la Cultura
Pablo Ruiz Picasso is the House of Culture and hosts the tenure of Mayor of
Arroyo de la Miel and is the setting for numerous events such as exhibitions,
theatre events, carnival and film. Its major attraction is its architectural
style Andalusian courtyard.
The Municipal
Auditorium is an auditorium with a capacity to found 1177 people home to
theatre, music and dance, mainly in summer as the Summer Festival of
Benalmadena or musical concerts during the patron saint festival in late June.
It is located between the exhibition of Arroyo de la Miel, Parque de la Paloma
Andalusia, Andalusia Dolfinarium Selwo andMarina, close to Benalmadena Costa.
Municipal Public
Library is newly created and combines modern architectural elements with a
large indoor lighting through a large window from which you can see a small
lake in the Parque de la Paloma. Among its collection of all the materials
included a section of books in foreign languages, a library, a computer service
and a free loan service of videos, music and DVDs.
