El Torcal National Park

El Paraje Natural ElTorcal de Antequera founded in 1989, gives the area special protection for itsimportant natural values: geomorphology, flora, fauna and landscape. Torcal isonly 11.7 km ² but has one of the most impressive karst landscapes in Europe. and includes four distinct areas: Sierra Pelada,Torcal Alto, Torcal Bajo, Tajos.

El Nacimiento del Rio de la Villa is located at the footof the Torcal site and extends to the edge of road 331, just six kilometersfrom the city.

This is an important place because its springs from a naturalwater supplies supply Antequera. In addition, currently used as municipal andrecreational area has a campground and an artificial lake.
