Fuengirola Transport and Communications

Fuengirola is connected to the neighbouring coastal towns along the Mediterranean by the (A-7) and the AP-7, which connects with Malaga and its airport, on the one hand, and Marbella and Algeciras on the other. The A-7 takes makes the role of ring road. The Fuengirola-7053 connects with the Guadalhorce Valley and the province through the fishing port, while the A-387 goes up to Mijas Pueblo.

The rail or RENFE station Fuengirola is the last station on line C-1 Cercanias Malaga ciuadad that connects with Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Malaga, in addition to the airport. Three other stations on this line are located in the town: Los Boliches, Torreblanca and Carvaja. In addition, the Corridor project on the Costa del Sol in future will connect the city with the town and other municipalities located to the west.
In addition to local bus service, there are also a regular intercity bus services connecting to the cities of Algeciras, Benalmadena, Spain, Coin, Cordoba, Granada, Jerez, La Linea de la Concepcion, Malaga, Marbella, Mijas, Ronda, Seville, and Torremolinos.

The local bus network consists of four lines that perform the following trips

     Line 1: Marina Playa - Los Pacos
     Line 2: Boquetillo - Carvajal
     Line 3: Canadas (Mijas) - Carvajal
     Line 4: Miramar - Carvajal

A fifth line connects the centre of Fuengirola with areas within the urbanization of the city

The Port of Fuengirola is used mainly for sports and fishing and is not used for carrying passengers, except a ferry that connects it with the Port of Benalmadena
