Pizarra Culture

The most typical holidays are in August, from 14th to 18th in honor of the Virgen de la Fuensanta, perpetual patron and mayor of the town. A large influx of both villagers and people from other villages come to the Descent of the Virgin on the 14th and 15th procession in the evening.

The “Raffle” takes place, a unique way to bring in the throne of the Virgin, where one can buy a ticket with which the move to another carrier to the throne. For this, after buying the ticket, you approach the carrier you want to replace, and say out loud “STOP” followed by the name or the name of the person you want to replace if you know it.
