Cultural events

Among the cultural events highlights are the Corner Festival Cueva del Tesoro, music festival, blues, jazz, flamenco and classical, in the sea cave entrance and the flamenco gratuita Flamenco Festival Gate Axarquia, which is held annually in August, while the Comedy Festival is an example of theater and music performances taking place in the four cores of the municipality during the month of July. 

 

Also there are dance competitions such as Retro or verdiales contest that takes place in September in Benagalbon and is dedicated to the style verdiales Montes.  In the month of May is Benagalbon Cultural Week, which includes exhibitions of paintings, film, music, food tasting, flamenco evenings and a literary festival takes place in autumn.

Museums and cultural centers

Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions Benagalbon: an ethnographic museum is made from a collection campaign of cultural material related to the past of the town among residents. It shows objects and endangered activities, like a bakery (flour mill).
Casa de la Cultura de la Cala del Moral: enabled space for theatrical and musical performances and exhibitions, which also houses a public library.

Popular festivals

As is traditional in the towns and cities of Andalucia, each core of the town holds its own fair.  Thus, each takes place on February 2nd. The Benagalbon Fair, coincides with the feast of Our Lady of Candelaria. In July they celebrate the Feria de la Cala del Moral and the Feria de Rincon de la Victoria, on the occasion of the Feast of the Virgen del Carmen. 

 

A similar event, the Socio-Cultural Week La Cala del Moral, is a program of workshops, competitions, talks, exhibitions, theater and takes place.  Other notable events are the award of love poetry, "Noctiluca" a contest for unpublished works written in Castilian, worth 2,000 euros to the winner, and anchovy Victorian Day, an event that is a free distribution of anchovies, regarded as the culinary symbol of the municipality, on the promenade of the nucleus of Rincon. 

The following month, it's the Fair Benagalbon Tower, and in September the parties in honor of the patroness, Our Lady of Victory take place.  Other signals are the carnival festivities, Easter and the pilgrimages of Benagalbon, La Cala del Moral and Benagalbon.
