Other interesting buildings are the Casa delos Navajas, neo-Mudejar style, and the Churchof St. Michael the Archangel, thePalacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la Costa del Sol and the MunicipalAuditorium Prince of Asturias,where the major events are held in the city.

Other notable buildings are Nogalera, Thework of Antonio Lamela Martinez, built in 1963; Carihuela Palace Hotel (1960),Manuel Jaen; all Eurosol (1963), Rafael de la Hoz and Gerardo Olivares;urbanization Playamar (1963), also by Antonio Lamela, the Hotel Cervantes(1970), Ricardo Rodriguez and Fernando Alvarez de Toledo; of Three Towers(1971), Luis Alfonso Pagan, inspired by the Torres Blancas Oiza Saenz deMadrid, the building Castillo de Santa Clara (1971), Jose Maria Santos Rein,and the center Entreplazas. Also of architectural interest are the many elegant villas in the area of Montemar, built in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Shopping street par excellence is the Calle San Miguel, located in the old town. At the end of this street is the Tower Mill and its not far from the Castle of Santa Clara. Among the notable buildings surrounding this spot include the Hotel Pez Espada and the Cultural CenterPablo Ruiz Picasso, either declared or in the process of being declared of Cultural Interest (BIC).
